JOAN M. MULLARE, Co-founder of Friendship Home, resides in Norwell and is the mother of four daughters, one of whom, Meg has developmental disabilities. Joan serves on the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation Regional and South Coastal Area Citizen Advisory Boards, the Residential Committee of New England Village, and is active in several Mothers’ support groups. Joan and Wilma were named Citizens of the Year in 2006 by the Norwell Chamber of Commerce and were awarded a certificate of Community Recognition by the Department of Mental Retardation at the State House in 2001.
