Program Coordinator for our Travel Club and Individual Support Programs

Laurel joined the Friendship Home staff team in July, 2010 as the Program Coordinator for our Travel Club and Individual Support Programs. She has successfully grown the Club to offer 5 outings per month with overnight excursions seasonally for weekends and weeklong vacations. She ran a successfully cruise the Bahamas for 9 lucky travelers in February, 2011!

Laurel holds a Bachelors Degree from Eastern Nazarene College and has worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1997. She served as Coordinator of Community/Family Support Services for the Arc of the South Shore from 2005 – 2010 and as a Case Manager for South Shore Support Services from 2006-2011. She demonstrates the utmost respect and a tireless commitment to providing community based opportunities that enrich the lives of people with disabilities.

Laurel currently serves as the Program Director for our Bridges to Work, Travel Club and Individual Support Programs. She has helped to grow the program to 24 program participants (summer, 2011). She is a key member of our leadership team, providing program leadership and staff supervision to our Vocational Advocates and Direct Support Staff members. Laurel is the proud mother of two adult sons.
